Zelda M. McKlveen, 94, of Stahlstown passed away July 1, 2024. Born February 17, 1930 in Stahlstown, she was the daughter of the late Chester C. and Mary E. (Lenhart) Knupp. Prior to her retirement at age 80, Zelda along with husband Bob was employed by the Rea Family of the former Stoneylonesome Farm for over 60 years as a housekeeper. Zelda took great pride in her work and service as her and Bob lived happily on the farm. Her and Bob lead an exemplary life as they loved and raised their 4 boys on the farm. They showed what nurturing God’s creation and hard work provided - a Godly life and work ethic that produced a wonderful successful family that she was very proud of. Zelda was a life long member of the Somerset Church of Christ and was a Sunday School teacher for many years and loved her church family. Along with keeping things neat and clean she enjoyed gardening her flowers. She loved hunting morel mushrooms in the spring and shared them with others she loved. Zelda was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2013 and her first born son Ronald in 2021 and a sister Althea Miller. Survived by three sons, Larry (Barbara), Mark (Belva) of Stahlstown and Greg (Kim) of Georgia and daughter-in-law Bonnie McKlveen of Latrobe; seven grandchildren George Himler, Chris (Nga), Corey, Rona, Joel, Gina McKlveen and Jenny(Chris)Syzmanski; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also a sister Elizabeth Benedict of Stahlstown and numerous nieces, nephews and good neighbors. Thanks to Independence Excela Health for years of care. Special thanks to all the staff at Loyalhanna Care Center for the kind,loving and compassionate care during her stay. It was greatly appreciated. Services to honor and celebrate Zelda's life will take place at Snyder-Green Funeral Home in Ligonier, PA. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Internment to follow at Snowball Cemetery.
Zelda M. McKlveen’s memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her and the impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly loved and will always remain in our hearts.
