William Gross

Willy Gross, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 4, 1947, he graced this world with his kindness and welcoming spirit. Willy was a devoted member of the Light on the Hill Outreach Church, where he actively participated and lent his support to the community he loved.

Willy's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to family and his many hobbies. He found joy in fixing things in the garage, tending to his yard, and the simple pleasure of mowing the grass. His passion for hunting allowed him to embrace the beauty of nature, and he relished moments spent outdoors.

His family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Jane Gross. Together they shared countless memories, building a life founded on love and support. Willy also leaves behind his children, Christine (Kevin) Clary, P.J. (Stephanie) George and Mark Nemcheck Jr.; his brother, David "Buck" Gross, sister, Peggy Somerville, brothers Thomas, Donald J. and Ralph Gross, of whom stand as testaments to the strong bonds of family he cherished throughout his life. He is also survived many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Grace Gross, and two of his beloved children, Lisa Jeanne Cox and Sean Nemcheck, as well as his sisters Joann DeMatty, Mary Lou McLean, Agnes "Dolly" Lam and brothers Allen and Ronald Gross, Willy's legacy will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and share their respects during the visitation at Snyder-Green Funeral Home 402 E. Church St. Ligonier, PA. The first visitation will take place on February 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by another session from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on February 15, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM.in the funeral home chapel.
