Kenneth Charles Glenn of Ligonier, PA, left this world on October 27, 2024, just shy of his 82nd birthday, at home following a prolonged illness. Born on November 7, 1942, in Corsica, PA, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many; dedicating much of his life to family, education and his community, leaving a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Kenneth's academic journey led him to Clarion State College followed by Michigan State University, shaping his future as an educator. He spent 30 years as a high school Biology and Ecology teacher, where he also coached volleyball, inspiring young minds both in and out of the classroom, with his knowledge, passions, sense of humor and loving demeanor. Later, he transitioned into financial advising, co-founding Estate Assurance Inc, where he continued to guide and teach others how to manage their wealth so they could live their best lives and retire comfortably. He was a Registered Representative with World Capital Brokerage Inc in Denver, Co since 1992.
Kenneth was a proud member of the NRA, an avid hunter, and cherished his time outdoors, particularly fishing and boating at Raystown Lake. He also had a strong love for his dogs, cats and the many horses he shared with his wife and stepdaughter at his home and farm on “Magic Mountain”.
Kenneth also had a keen and active interest in politics, championing teacher and student causes in his early career, and supporting small business, fiscally conservative, and second amendment rights later in life.
Kenneth's life was greatly enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Hauger) Wilkins-Glenn and together they shared countless memories filled with laughter and love. He was a proud and devoted father and survived by his two sons, Kenneth R. (wife Rachel) Glenn of Walkersville, MD, and Jodie A. Glenn of Webster, TX; his stepdaughter Kristen N. Wilkins of Ligonier PA; and his granddaughter Claire E. Glenn of Gaithersburg MD.
He is also survived by and leaves behind cherished memories with his half-brothers, Robert C. (wife Rae Ann) Miller of Saltsburg, PA; Ronald I. (wife Pat) Glenn of Strattanville PA; Dwight D. (wife LuAnn) Glenn of Fisher PA; Charles M. (wife Jerr) Glenn of Harmony PA; and Leo F. (wife Christine) Glenn of Slippery Rock, PA; and his half-sister, Carol E. Keely of Tulsa OK; Kenneth was the uncle of many nieces and nephews. Kenneth will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Glenn; mother, Violet V. (Canaan) Miller, half-sister, Cathy E. Glenn; step-mother Elizabeth E. (Simpson) Glenn; and step-father Clyde E. Miller.
Later in life, Kenneth became a man of faith, finding comfort in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are invited to honor Kenneth’s life. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service 5:00 PM at Snyder-Green Funeral Home, located at 402 E Church St., Ligonier, PA 15658.
Kenneth Charles Glenn will be remembered as a hardworking, intelligent, and loving family man and friend who cherished the outdoors and led a life of service and education. His spirit will live on in the hearts he touched, reminding all of the warmth of family, the joy of laughter and the beauty of a life well-lived. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
