Kathryn Tosh

Kathryn G. Tosh, 96, of Ligonier, peacefully passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, surrounded by loving family. She was born July 27, 1926, in Fairfied, to the late W. Paul and Dorothy (Lynn) Graham. Kathryn was a graduate of Ligonier High School, Class of 1944, and a graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1948. On June 6, 1964, she married her husband, John S. Tosh. They relocated to Alexandra, Va., for John's employment and to raise their family until 1980, when they returned to Fairfield Township. She taught Sunday school and belonged to the Mariners Club, Virginia. Kathryn was an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, where she served as an elder and deacon and worked many years in the kitchen for Fort Ligonier Days. She and John founded scholarships at Saint Vincent and Grove City colleges.

Kathryn loved to garden and was a member of the Weeders and Seeders Club of Ligonier; Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Ft. Ligonier chapter; and the Home Economics in Homemaking (HEIH) Club. She also volunteered for Adopt a Highway. Kathryn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John S. Tosh; loving mother of Jeff (Karen) Tosh, of Bolivar, and Kimberly (Tim) Green, of Ligonier; cherished grandmother of Stefanie Lynn (John III) Brown, Kristi (Joseph) Newman, John (Amber) Green, Kathryn (Kaleb) Yandrick, Alex Raine and Michelle Croyle; great-grandmother of Kira (Baby) Augustine, Elyse, Evita, Elianna and Shepard; great-great grandmother of Genesis; and sister of Polly (Sid) Hoskins, the late Lynn (Patsy) Graham and the late John (Roberta) Graham. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the SNYDER-GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jordan Harris of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
