John Pershing

John Edward Pershing, 71, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at home. He was born March 26, 1953, in Latrobe, to the late Robert and Mary Helen (Snyder) Pershing. He was a retired equipment operator, Cat. 4, for 38 years. John was a member of the - PA State Workers Union; Ligonier VFW 734; Latrobe Eagles 1188; and the Ligonier American Legion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, an infant brother Richard Pershing, Dennis Pershing and James Pershing; and a special companion his dog Betty Boop. John is survived by two children, Julie Pershing (Richard Lichtenfels) and Joni Pershing; five grandchildren, Aleesha, Kyra, Kassandra, Katlyn, and Kyle; two sisters, Linda McKee (Dan) and Patricia Ross (Melvin); a brother, Robert Pershing (Brad Hone); numerous nieces and nephews; and a beloved friend, Barb Repinski.
