Dorothy J Umbaugh

Dorothy J. (Bachmeyer) Umbaugh, 92, of Ligonier, passed away Thursday, Mar. 31, 2022 at home. She was born Mar. 31, 1930, in Pittsburgh, to the late Francis and Elinor (Leslie) Bachmeyer. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Ligonier. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Umbaugh (1993); two sisters, Ruth Wetzel and Catherine Bachmeyer; and a daughter-in-law, Linda E. Umbaugh. She is survived by six children, Michael Umbaugh and his friend Cheri; Fred Umbaugh and his wife Sandy; Mark Umbaugh and his wife DD; Diane Henry and her husband Ben; Matthew Umbaugh, and Richard Umbaugh and his wife Terri; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Bachmeyer (Barbara); a special niece, Delores Allison as well as several other nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Sunday, Apr. 3, 2022, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Snyder-Green Funeral Home, 402 E Church St, Ligonier, PA 15658. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Apr. 4, 2022, at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Anthony J. Carbone as celebrant. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
