Donald Ankney

Donald L. Ankney, owner and operator of Donald Ankney Construction, passed away on May 14th, 2023 at the age of 91. He was born in Kregar Pa on July 25th, 1931 to Lloyd and Estella Ankney.

Donald had a delightful sense of humor and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved all types of candy, perhaps a little too much, but it always put a smile on his face.

Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife Wilma, father Lloyd, mother Estella, brothers Walter, Merle, Clyde, Clair Dean and sisters Mabel, Helen, Dorothy and Marie. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members including his daughters Sandy (Richard) Knupp and Candy Porterfield; sister Loretta Delisgnore; grandson Mike (Tracy) Knupp; many nieces and nephews; friends; colleagues; and neighbors.

Donald touched many lives throughout his career as a contractor. His contributions to the local community building several local landmarks will never be forgotten.

Donald’s kind-heartedness made him a beloved figure across the community.

In honor of Donald's life please take time to remember the times he made you laugh or left you with a sense of joy and appreciation for the small things in life.

A private burial will take place at Snowball Cemetery.
