Dee Pritts

January 3, 1963 — December 2, 2024

Dee Pritts, a cherished member of the community and a longtime hairdresser, departed this life on December 2, 2024, in Stahlstown, Pennsylvania. Born on January 3, 1963, in Ligonier, Dee’s journey was marked by kindness and a welcoming spirit that endeared her to all who crossed her path.

Throughout her life, Dee embodied a profound dedication to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to Rodney "Budge" Pritts and a loving mother to her daughters, Debbie (Dwight) Koontz and Trisha (Ian) Cloyd, as well as her sons, Chris Loop, Brian Hartman, and Billy (Amber) Hartman. Dee also reveled in her role as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Colton, Evan, Sophia, Joey, Levi, Ethan, Raelyn, and Izzy, cherishing every moment spent in their company; her step-father, Francis Kantorik, and brothers, Jim (late Lisa) Burns, Greg Burns, and Duane (Darlene) Burns; her precious dog Dodge and many nieces, nephews, step siblings, cousins and friends. Though she navigated challenges, including the loss of her son Chris Weaver, and her parents, James and Mary Burns, Dee's strength and resilience showed through.

Dee was known for her welcoming personality, to making great connections with everyone she met. Her career as hairdresser spanned many years, during which she not only transformed appearances but also touched lives, establishing deep friendships with her clients. The salon was more than just a workplace for Dee; it was a gathering space filled with laughter, stories, and heartfelt moments.

Her hobbies painted a picture of a life filled with simple pleasures. Dee delighted in the art of cooking and baking, often sharing her creations with those around her. She had an affinity for shopping and antiquing, relishing the treasure hunting experience. The thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets bought a sparkle to her eye, while the gentle embrace of the beach granted her peace and tranquility. Her kind nature was expansive, and she devoted herself to volunteering regularly at the Cook Township Community Center, aptly reflecting her desire to give back and foster connections within her beloved neighborhood.

The viewing honoring Dee's life will be held on Friday December 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Snyder-Green Funeral Home, located at 402 East Church Street, Ligonier, PA. 724-238-2611. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 at 11 A.M. in Stahlstown Trinity Community Church (Everyone Meet at Church). Burial will follow in the Stahlstown Cemetery.
